VW is no stranger to doing green vehicles. They have sponsored the Jetta TDi Cup Diesel races. This year, the vehicles running in that race are running on bio-diesel.
Race cars running on diesel are nothing new. Audi and Peugeot have been cleaning up at LeMans with their diesel powered cars. In the US, the American LeMans race series also uses alternative fuels.
Each of the “green Sciroccos” has a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine producing close to 300 horsepower. Not to bad for Compressed Natural Gas. Now, can I get my grill to do 0-60 in 4 seconds?
