
From the good folks over at Wired Magazine’s Auto Blog, comes word of a new diesel-hybrid in the works to challenge the Audi diesels at LeMans.
Yes, you read that correctly….a diesel HYBRID. Part diesel, part ELECTRIC!
This revolutionary vehicle is planned for the 2011 Lemans race.
Evidently, the electric drive motor in assisting the car, in both exiting corners as well as leaving the pit lane, could help lower lap times. With the addition hybrid efficiency to the already impressive race MPG numbers a diesel affords and Peugeot could be looking at fewer pit stops. This combination could give Peugeot an Audi- assassin!
